Firewall and VPN load balancing and redundancy

For many remote offices, maintaining a VPN connection to another remote office or the corporate headquarters is critical for preserving security over the WAN. Organizations with multiple sites can use PowerLink or ShieldLink with multiple WAN links to load balance and provide failover for VPN traffic. This provides security, failover protection and link flexibility. For example, PowerLink uses site-to-site channel bonding to enable organizations with multiple locations to have a PowerLink located at both sites providing packet-based load balancing. Additionally, PowerLink does health checking to determine if an endpoint is unreachable and will direct traffic only to links that respond appropriately. An organization with two or more network links between their headquarters and a branch office can use PowerLink to combine the bandwidth of the two links to improve network performance, as well as provide VPN traffic redundancy, so that if one of the network connections fails, the VPN will remain connected without any lost sessions.
