POWERLINK IS COST-EFFECTIVE

If you've ever wished you could take advantage of the cost of a ADSL line, and longed to get business connectivity at that price, your desires can come true. Not only can you get the flexible capacity – you also get the ability to buy cost-effective lines from multiple ISPs/Telcos, so that if one line goes down you will still automatically switch over to the other line.

It is important to evaluate what your WAN traffic looks like, and prioritize the latency-sensitive, or bandwidth intensive applications, and provision your WAN connectivity accordingly. For example, rather than replacing six DSL lines with one T3, you might want to keep five DSL lines and add a T1 line, that would still be less expensive (about one third of the cost of a T3). Another advantage of this approach is that you can send the latency-sensitive traffic over the T1 line.

By aggregating multiple Internet links from one or more ISPs, PowerLink reduces the need to purchase expensive high-speed links, and helps increase bandwidth by using cost-effective links without compromising up-time. In addition to managing WAN scalability and redundancy, PowerLink cost-effectively utilizes all available WAN bandwidth across multiple WAN links through multi-homing and/or site-to-site channel bonding.

PowerLink allows you choose the WAN link performance/cost ratio that best fits your needs; provides you with complete service provider independence; and eliminates the complexity of network protocols such as Border Gateway Protocol (BGP).

If you have a T1 line (1.5 Mbps), and need additional bandwidth, you would typically have to upgrade to a T3 line (45 Mbps). However, this may be significantly more bandwidth than is required, and will be a significant increase in cost. With PowerLink™, this same scenario can be accomplished with two 768 Kbps DSL lines that can be combined for a total aggregated bandwidth equivalent to a T1 - at a fraction of the cost. You can also add lower speed lines such as xDSL, cable or wireless, etc., with a relatively small increase in cost that could more closely match your needs. In addition to getting more cost-effective bandwidth, you are also dramatically increasing the reliability of your connection due to the new levels of redundancy through the aggregated Internet connection.

PowerLink is independent of WAN technologies, and is fully compatible with xDSL, cable, wireless, T1, E1, T3, E3, satellite, fiber channel, frame relay, etc. This flexibility allows you to mix and match connectivity to best fit your needs. The total bandwidth aggregation capacity of PowerLink allows for up to 1.2 Gbps of bandwidth aggregation throughput.
