Ecessa's Value-proposition

Today, small-to-medium size enterprises with web applications face many challenges. When an application is delivered over the WAN (Internet), it is not uncommon for the network link to have an outage. In addition to network links that may be over-loaded, other events can cause them to fail, such as network hardware failure, human error and natural disasters such as earthquakes and hurricanes

Ecessa WAN link controllers have emerged as one of the most important technologies in solving the problem of reliability for Internet traffic. They provide the ability to direct Internet traffic to the best performing Internet links. Should one link become inaccessible due to a bottleneck or outage, the WAN link controller takes that link out of service, and automatically directs network traffic to other functioning links. This process is virtually seamless to the user.

What are the "problems" Ecessa helps solve?

Businesses are looking for ways to lower monthly costs for their Internet connectivity (bandwidth).
Ecessa enables them to either replace expensive dedicated circuits with multiple lower cost broadband connections (cable, DSL, wireless, etc). In addition to lowering monthly bandwidth costs, they gain built-in link redundancy for greater WAN uptime.

Alternatively, if they need additional bandwidth, rather than having to upgrade to an even more expensive dedicated circuit, they can simply add a low-cost broadband connection. Ecessa will manage both the dedicated circuit and the broadband connection.

Businesses need greater Internet reliability for their employees using the Internet for email and the web-based applications, as well as for customers and business partners connecting to them via email and the web. If their Internet connection goes down, employees loose productivity, and customers can't conduct business with them (potential lost revenue if it is an ecommerce business).

Analogy - Relying on a single Internet connection to run a business on is like a skydiver, relying on a single parachute without a backup chute. With a parachute, your life depends upon it. With the Internet, your business depends upon it.

In simple terms how does Ecessa remedy the problem?

Ecessa makes devices that manage users and applications (network traffic) going to and from a business over the Internet. Two or more Internet connections (such as a T1, cable, DSL, wireless, satellite, etc.) are connected into our products (PowerLink, ShieldLink, ClariLink). Ecessa continually checks the Internet connections to make sure they are up, and performing well . If a problem occurs, let's say the cable connection went down, Ecessa directs all traffic to the other working links.

One of the things we hear most often from our customers is that before they bought Ecessa's product, and they had an Internet outage, the IT department would have to scramble to find the problem (under much stress), and work to get the problem fixed. It took too much time, and employees and customers heartily complained. After they installed Ecessa, when one of their Internet links goes down, they don't even know about it. The IT department knows about it because Ecessa's product sends them an email notification. But, they don't have to do anything about it. Ecessa has already addressed the problem. No mad scrambling for the IT department, and employees and customers are not even aware of any problem.

Analogy - It's like a traffic cop. If there is an accident on a four way road, the traffic cop will direct traffic away from the lane where the accident occurred. Similarly, Ecessa products direct users away from an Internet link outages.
