Powerful new WAN failover and load balancing devices from Ecessa offer organizations industry-leading power for growing network needs

MINNEAPOLIS, MN, June 09, 2015 — Ecessa Corporation, designer and manufacturer of networking hardware and software for constant and seamless Internet connectivity for businesses, today announced its new 10G and 20G appliances. The appliances are the industry’s most advanced WAN controllers.

Utilizing Intel’s i7 processor with quad-core technology, Ecessa’s new platform features twice the performance of competitive models with lower power consumption. The units feature eight 1-gigabit Ethernet ports and options to combine two or four 10-gigabit copper or fiber ports for hybrid implementations. The 10G models support up to 10 Gbps speeds and the 20G models support up to 20 Gbps speeds.

How the Move to 10 Gbps and 20 Gbps Supports Enterprise Networks

The appliances accelerate Ecessa’s PowerLink™, ShieldLink™, ClariLink™ and WANworX™ product families, offering twice the power of competitive products and enabling organizations to take full advantage of the high-speed fiber networks that service providers are deploying across the country. Ecessa’s new products feature award winning ISP/WAN link aggregation, load balancing, automatic failover, traffic shaping and virtualization functionality for mission critical applications, as well as day-to-day business operations.

With the need for enterprise bandwidth increasing faster than most businesses can keep up, this new extension of the Ecessa product line allows organizations to meet their current and future bandwidth needs.

“In our work with IT departments, we see the intense demand on bandwidth requirements first-hand. Today, organizations rely on a number of cloud applications and most of the time they all need to be in use at once—Salesforce, Marketo, Hubspot, Office 365, Google Drive and others—the number of cloud apps will continue to increase along with accelerated use of mobile, BYOD and video,” explained Mike Siegler, vice president of development and support, Ecessa Corporation. “By 2018, more than 60% of enterprises* will have at least half of their infrastructure on cloud-based platforms.”

“We also see that WAN budgets are flattening, and in some cases declining, but there’s no corresponding tolerance for outages,” Siegler said. “Organizations need more speed and resilience for less IT spend. The move to 10G and 20G makes reliable, high-speed access more affordable and efficient than ever before.”
